Both the DeNovix QFX and Qubit® Fluorometers are used for fluorescence quantification of proteins, nucleic acids and other biomolecules.
In two key Technical Notes we compare the features and system performance of the two fluorometers. Technical Note 167 provides a performance comparison of DeNovix dsDNA Quantification Assays and Qubit® dsDNA Assays. Technical Note 200 discusses RNA quantification and a performance comparison of the QFX and Qubit®.
The QFX Fluorometer from DeNovix allows accurate fluorescence quantification with a versatile set of four fluorescence channels and a proprietary optical core. DeNovix offers LED excitation sources in the UV, blue, green and red ranges whereas Qubit® 3.0 and Qubit® 4 fluorometers offer only a blue and red excitation sources. The additional sources provide the ability to use assays such as the DeNovix Broad Range dsDNA fluorescence assay which is not suitable for Qubit instruments.
Combined, the QFX and the DeNovix range of Fluorescence Assays provide the widest dynamic range and highest sensitivity of quantification available. The DeNovix QFX provides a lower dsDNA detection limit 20x below the Qubit and an upper range of 2x higher.
