Kara Hunter is a part of the Sukenik Lab at Syracuse University, where a DeNovix CellDrop FLxi Automated Cell Counter is used in their research.

Read the summary below for a look at the lab’s work!

“Our lab studies the chemical principles governing how proteins interact with their surrounding environment, in the test tube and in cells. To do this, we use a combination of live-cell imaging, high-throughput methods, and computational modeling. We focus on environmental stress and the role of intrinsically disordered proteins in health and disease.

The DeNovix instrument is used in yeast studies to measure viability upon desiccation, or the near absence of water. In addition, we also profiled the tolerance to desiccation of more than 20 different species of yeast.”
