The Sardana Lab, led by Dr. Richa Sardana, is based in the Department of Molecular Medicine in the Veterinary Medical Center at Cornell University. The lab uses a CellDrop BF Automated Cell Counter in their research on membrane protein homeostasis mechanisms.
See below for a summary of Dr. Sardana’s research!
“We study how membrane protein trafficking and quality control mechanisms surveil the membrane proteome, and how their dysregulation results in human disease. We focus on how membrane proteins are correctly maintained at specific intracellular organelles and what the consequences of defects in these pathways are. We are also interested in understanding how cellular quality control systems distinguish functional or non-functional membrane proteins, and which features of the targets and QC machinery facilitate these decisions.
Our DeNovix instrument makes the workflow for cell counting much easier and convenient!”
