Cells that are elliptical in shape and less perfectly round can be difficult to count with an automated cell counter. CellDrop includes Irregular Cell Mode to address this issue. This feature enables researchers to accurately count a wider variety of cells.

The National Institute of Standards and Technology has proposed a robust method to assess cell counting linearity and reproducibility using serial dilutions to measure the proportional change of concentration on a cell counting device compared to the known proportion of the dilution series.
